bfa thesis book

bfa thesis book

My undergrad thesis work focused on generating interactive and collaborative experiences. I did formative research to find out what evokes a response and compels people to engage, especially with strangers, in a given situation. Through a series of projects I experimented with different types of interaction I wanted from people and different ways to achieve that interaction. For the final piece I constructed a see-saw which I installed in the BFA thesis show. I wanted something that people would want to have fun with and would naturally know what the expected response was.

This all culminated in a book: It’s Personal. It documents the process of my thesis work but I also wanted the book to be an extension of my thesis work and itself to be interactive. The book a two-part object. Two identical books contain the exact same content but have opposite information redacted out of it so that it requires two people to obtain all the information.
